JANUARY 26, 2019: COLDSNAP FOR KIDS W/ The Blues Berries

The Blues Berries perform throughout Canada spreading their love for the blues to the younger generation. Drawing influence from artists like Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and Stevie Ray Vaughan but leaving behind the traditional subject matter, they have created a unique hybrid of blues and children’s tunes. Their music is fresh, smart and has both parents and children diggin’ every groove.

JANUARY 26, 2019: SUNDAY FULL OF SOUL

Featuring The Sojourners, Khari Wendell McClelland, and Nova Voce, this will be a magical evening of soaring voices.

Nova Voce is fresh off a first place win at the 2019 National Music Festival, and both Khari Wendell McClelland and the Sojourners both draw deep inspiration from their African-American history to sing uplifting songs of joy and freedom and deliver rousing messages of social justice and civil rights.

Featuring The Trials of Cato, Twin Bandit, and Amy Blanding 
For those that love to get their folk on, these three performers/groups will scratch that itch.

The Trials of Cato, hailing from the UK, and BC’s own Twin Bandit and Amy Blanding “pay homage to the tradition whilst twisting old bones into something febrile and modern, with stomping tunes and captivating stories.

JANUARY 30, 2019: SENSATIONAL SONGWRITERS

Featuring David Francey, Twin Flames, and Sam Holden.
Vanderhoof’s own Sam Holden, winner of the 2019 Limelight Quest Award, will join two of the most significant songwriting superstars in Canada today for an evening of story telling and amazing vocals. David Francey is a multiple Juno award winning singer songwriter who’s words will leave you both laughing and breathless, while Twin Flames create a sonic landscape that spans Canada and the Arctic, singing in English, Inuttitut and French.

Iconic Newfoundland singer-songwriter, best-selling author, actor and recent recipient of the Order of Canada, Alan Doyle has announced his latest Canadian tour.

Doyle was the lead singer of iconic Canadian band Great Big Sea, known for fusing traditional Newfoundland music with their own pop sensibilities. Their nine albums, double-disc hits retrospective, and two DVD releases have all been declared Gold or Platinum and have sold a combined 1.2 million copies in Canada. His third solo album continues to cement Doyle’s reputation as one of Canada’s most treasured musicians and storytellers. In Doyle’s words, “I always want people to have the greatest night of their life when the house lights go down.”

You will see an energetic live band, amazing frontline singers and dancers transforming and re-living through two decades of music, costumes, trends and dancing along with informative video imagery in the background. Performing HITS from Doris Day, Patti Page, Dean Martin, Johnny Cash, Fats Domino, Frank Sinatra, Little Richard, The Platters, Bill Haley and the Comets, Elvis, Paul Anka, Patsy Cline, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, Ricky Nelson, Chuck Berry, Chubby Checker, Dion, The Four Seasons, The Beatles, Roy Orbison, The Temptations, The Supremes, The Rolling Stones, Sonny and Cher, Tina Turner, Neil Diamond, and many more….

The audience will see silhouettes of a band onstage, video will roll in the background with the narrator describing trivia about the upcoming artists prior to each song without mentioning the names. There will be a pause. The audience is encouraged to shout out their guess of what song is coming up. Let the party begin. We sorted through 20 years of over a thousand songs into one show. The main criteria was to trim it to hit songs that are still relevant and memorable to this day. We made our pick of songs that we feel will never get old.
